Interplex Acquires Automation Specialists, LLC
Flushing, NY – April 30, 2007 - Interplex Industries, a leading global provider of metal stamped, plated, and plastic molded components and assemblies, announced today that it has acquired Automation Specialists, LLC, a full-service designer and builder of automatic assembly and test systems.
Located in Warwick, Rhode Island, Automation Specialists delivers custom designed assembly solutions ranging from single station work cells to fully-automatic robotic assembly systems. The company’s automation capabilities include rotary handling systems, fully automated and semi-automated systems as well as non-synchronous, rotary dial and cam operated automation. Automation Specialists’ turnkey solutions help manufacturers increase plant productivity and efficiency by employing mistake-proof techniques into the automated assembly process. The company currently supports the automotive, medical and consumer industries.

Founded in 1958, Interplex Industries provides contract design, precision metal stamping, coating and finishing, insert and injection molding, metal etching, assembly and automation services around the world and is headquartered in Flushing, NY. Interplex currently provides its services to the communications, electronics, medical and automotive markets. The company has facilities in the United States, Mexico, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Scotland, France, Germany and Hungary.
