Interplex Automation Relocates Operations

Attleboro, MA – December 18, 2009. Interplex Automation, a full-service designer and builder of automatic assembly and test systems and a division of Interplex Industries, announced today that it has relocated its operations to Attleboro, MA. The company shares the location with the Interplex Engineered Products (IEP) Technology Center.

“The relocation offers significant advantages which will benefit our customers,” said Mike English, President of Interplex Automation. “It provides a larger, more modern facility to fabricate our assembly equipment. In addition, co-locating with the IEP Tech Center allows us to leverage their knowledge about mechanical component technology, which is crucial for providing assembly solutions.”

Interplex Automation has recently installed new production equipment, including:
    - A fully automatic robotic work cell that integrates secondary assembly processes and
100% testing for insert molded products.
    - A semi-automatic assembly cell that inserts compliant pins into a printed circuit board
(PCB) while monitoring force and dimension parameters during insertion.

Interplex Automation was founded in 2004 in Warwick, RI to deliver custom designed assembly solutions ranging from single station work cells to fully-automatic robotic assembly systems. The company’s automation capabilities include rotary handling systems, fully automated and semi-automated systems as well as non-synchronous, rotary dial and cam operated automation.

Founded in 1958 Interplex Industries, Inc. is headquartered in College Point, NY. The company continues to expand its technology and capabilities in the areas of product design and application development services, metal etching, prototyping, tool design and build, precision metal stamping, die casting, precision machining, plating and finishing, insert and injection molding, assembly and full scale automation services around the world. Interplex currently provides its services to the communications, electronics, industrial, medical and automotive markets and has facilities in the United States, Mexico, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Korea, Scotland, France, Germany and Hungary.
