Interplex to Feature Reel-to-Reel Chemical Etching at MD&M East

College Point, NY – May 5, 2011. Interplex Industries, Inc., a global contract manufacturer of complex components, subassemblies and devices, will feature Interplex Etch Logic, the company’s premier reel-to-reel chemical etching facility at Medical Design & Manufacturing East 2011 in booth 836 from June 6 - 9 at the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC.

With twenty-eight manufacturing facilities located in North America, Asia and Europe and over one-million square feet of manufacturing space, Interplex has long served OEM customers with the most comprehensive set of precision metal, plastic and assembly solutions.

“Reel-to-Reel Chemical Etching can produce small, complex features in metal component products otherwise not achievable through conventional stamping methods,” said Al Hoffmann, Interplex Director of Medical Business Development. “It also creates these parts with a very high degree of repeatability and consistency, which is essential for the medical device market.”

Reel-to-Reel Chemical Etching possesses other unique benefits. It allows for parts to be presented to other automated manufacturing processes such as forming, plating, insert molding and assembly on a reel, further reducing total manufacturing costs. Interplex is currently developing a variety of parts used in several different medical applications including precision components for drug-delivery and micro-miniature surgical devices.

Interplex representatives will also be on hand at MD&M East to discuss the company’s ISO 13485, FDA registered medical device facility that specializes in the development and manufacture of minimally invasive surgical devices, and catheter-based devices, as well as the opportunities for the use of Shape-Memory Alloy actuation devices in medical applications and the company’s recently announced Flex Circuit Assemblies with Custom Connectors.
