Interplex Opens New Facility in Chennai
College Point, NY – April 5, 2010. Interplex Industries, a leading global provider of precision components and assemblies, announced today that it has opened a new facility in Chennai, India. Located within the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur, the facility is 2,250 square meters on six acres of land, suitable for future growth.
"The investment we have made in Chennai is of great importance to us. Chennai is increasingly becoming the manufacturing hub for various market segment and Interplex will be better able to serve these customers with a facility that is close by," said Krishna Padmanabhan, General Manager for
Interplex India.
Initially,
Interplex Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. Chennai is performing stamping operations but has been built to include other operations such as plating and insert molding. It is currently supporting customers from the automotive industry but will be adding customers from other markets, such as electrical, Automotive, electronics, industrial products and mobile devices and its accessories.
Mr. Padmanabhan added, "We have taken special care in investing in people for our new Chennai facility by providing them with extensive training. Many of our existing customers have evinced keen interest in the new facility. With the India economy growing at a healthy pace, this facility will play a very key role in our growth in India and in our ability to support our customers efficiently.”
