Interplex Sunbelt
Established in 1980, Interplex Sunbelt has excelled as a custom manufacturer of precision metal stampings and continuous reel-to-reel insert molded components and assemblies. In-house die design, construction, production and tool maintenance for precision metal stamping and insert molded components allows the company to service its customer's needs quickly and completely.
Specializing in light to medium gauge (less than .050), tight tolerance, complex parts, Interplex Sunbelt has also been able to grow its expertise into the heavier gauges (.070 - .100) as the market dictates and evolves. Interplex Sunbelt has the ability to offer deep drawn parts as well as in-die tapping for threaded part requirements and in-die welding of round or flat wire, shaped tape and precision metal contacts.
Interplex Sunbelt was one of the first 300 companies worldwide to achieve TS-16949 Certification in December 2003. The achievement was completed a full two years ahead of the new Automotive Industry mandate.
INTERPLEX SUNBELT SUMMARY OF SERVICES
- Prototypes: In-house design and manufacture of prototype tooling for tigh-tolerance precision stamped metal components as well as short run volumes. In-house ability for prototype and low volume overmolded or mold and assemble plastic/metal components.
- Metal Stamping: Design, manufacture, and run Grade "A" progressive dies for medium and high volume requirements (100,000 and higher).
- Molding: Reel-to-reel overmolding of plastic onto stamped components. Secondary assembly or additional processes as required.
- Heat Treating: Secondary heat treating (loose piece and reel-to-reel) of Beryllium Copper.
- Tape and reel packaging: In-house manufacture of carrier tape pockets with manual and automated equipment to place stamped parts into carrier tape.
- Selective Tipping: In-house reel-to-reel selective coating of epoxy.
- In-Die Tapping: In-die (within a progressive stamping tool) thread tapping of stamped components. This process provides a more consistent product while reducing tool cost and piece price. Mostly suited to a high volume application.
- In-Die Welding: A fully automated, precision high-speed welding process of round or flat wire, shaped tape and precious metal contacts.
