historyINTERPLEX NAS began in 1958 as North American Specialties Corporation, a manufacturer of precision metal stampings for the connector and electronics industries. In 1977, the company founder applied NAS technology to create a revolutionary solution for soldering problems in circuits assembly - the NAS solder and flux bearing lead. This product line offered significant cost and time savings over other soldering methods and gained immediate acceptance among major electronics manufacturers around the world.

As the company expanded, it added U.S. and worldwide subsidiaries specializing in diverse products and services. In the early 1980's, a holding company, INTERPLEX INDUSTRIES, was created to provide a uniform name for the affiliated firms; as a result, North American Specialties became INTERPLEX NAS, Inc.
