Plating : Reel-to-Reel Electroplating

Interplex offers an extensive global plating and electroplating capability with operations in North America, Europe and Asia. Each Interplex plating facility provides reel-to-reel electroplating services for a variety of precious and non-precious metals including: gold, palladium, palladium-nickel, copper, silver, tin and tin-lead. Certain facilities also provide automated rack and barrel plating services, and Phosphorus electroless nickel with co-deposit Teflon.

To provide its customers with the lowest cost solutions, Interplex has leveraged its technical expertise to create a number of reel-to-reel plating options. Customers can choose from a multitude of electro deposition technologies including selective brush, selective stripe, controlled depth and overall flood. In addition, Interplex is pioneering lead-free plating alternatives utilizing lead-free whisker mitigating tin chemistries combined with state of the art in-line reflow technologies to meet new environmental regulations.

Plating Quality Control:
The Interplex laboratories and quality control organizations are fully equipped with state of the art instruments such as atomic absorption, ionic chromatography, X-ray fluorescence thickness measurement, video microscopes, cross sectioning equipment, steam aging, salt spray test equipment, metallurgical microscopes etc. to assure maintenance and consistency of high quality plating.

All of Interplex's reel-to-reel plating processes can be applied to both stamped and formed products, as well as, strip stock. Finished packaging styles include reels, pancake coils and traverse wound spools.
